The Gilmour Academy Ice Arena near Cleveland, OH has installed more than 200 fixtures made from Hussey Copper's EPA-registered MD-Cu29 Antimicrobial Copper. This innovative training facility sees more than 350,000 visitors each year and is now equipped with push/pull plates, cabinet hardware, and locker handles that provide continuous protection to athletes and fans. Signage is also displayed around the facility to help communicate the benefits of the new copper fixtures.
The Gilmour Arena is a great example of the benefits of antimicrobial copper being applied beyond healthcare and into the sports and fitness world where staph infections are common and microbial contamination is a growing concern.
